“When I first came in for this Wellness Retreat, I had apprehensions circling my mind because, as a diabetic, I’m a slave to the same kind of food and routine because that’s the key to maintaining your levels. I took the leap of faith and I’m glad that I did because it gave me an insight to how wondrous our bodies are… I walked out more confident and less on my external insulin dose requirement”

“Over the past year I’ve been going to Rita to regain balance in my life. Her comprehensive approach to healing is highly effective. She provides simple day to day advice that includes meditation, body work, nutritional supplements that are catered specially to me. Most recently I experienced her PanchaKarma program. The process helped me release many physical and emotional toxins and make room for healing, love, and overall rejuvenation. Rita is a beautiful teacher for self-reliance, her work is truly healing and transformative.”

I had been working with a homeopathic doctor for a LONG time on health concerns including mold toxicity and POTS – which impacted my thyroid, mood, skin, gut, etc. etc. I was on a lot of expensive supplements, and wasn’t sure if they were even working. Finding a holistic approach was so lovely, in that I had someone who was giving me extra support in working toward my goals AND every suggestion she gave me always worked. Working with her helped me strengthen my immune and nervous system. I also loved the masks and skincare products she made for me to treat acne!”

Came to Rita with a laundry list of chronic issues: IBS, sleeplessness, anxiety. After only a few months of simple and very effective holistic suggestions, as well as some energy clearing, my laundry has been taken to the cleaners!”

Questions from our users, specialists & health practitioners in the field
Holistic Health is a form of healing that looks at the whole person - body, mind, spirit, and emotions - in the quest for optimal health and wellness. The uniqueness of each patient is emphasized by the holistic health approach, as well as their daily surroundings. The holistic health practitioners believe that the whole is constituted of many interdependent parts and imbalances in one part can affect the overall health.
The treatment and techniques used are to assist the individual in living a healthy lifestyle as a whole in harmony with nature.
Holistic treatment is helpful in chronic disease management, lessening symptoms, preventing a disease from getting worse, and relieving stress that may be associated with illness. Also, it is beneficial in reducing active pain conditions like frozen shoulder, neck pain, headache, sprained, tensed or sore muscles, etc…
Recent NCCAM-supported studies have been investigating: evidence based on the efficacy and safety of CAM modalities for treating chronic pain.
- CAM therapies for chronic low back pain, including acupuncture, massage, spinal manipulation, and yoga.
- CAM therapies for osteoarthritis pain, including prolotherapy, tai chi, and yoga
- Massage for chronic neck pain.
- Acupuncture and spinal manipulation for chronic headaches.
- Acupuncture and tai chi for fibromyalgia pain.
Depending on your condition, the location of your pain, and its severity, there may be other pain management strategies available besides medication. If you find yourself automatically reaching for the pill bottle, Harvard Medical School experts explain why more and more doctors are recommending mind-body therapies like tai chi, meditation, chiropractic, supplements, hypnosis therapy, and even yoga to help you get relief from dozens of painful conditions.
Chronic Pain: Study of Complementary and Alternative Treatments
Source : Harvard Medical School
Pain is the most common reason people seek health care and the leading cause of disability in the world. One in every 10 adults suffer from chronic pain. Pain that lasts or recurs for more than three months is referred to as chronic pain. It interferes with many daily activities - physically, psychologically and emotionally and one of the goals of acute or chronic pain management is to reduce the effect of pain on a person's function and quality of life. The ability to resume routine activity, maintain a positive affect or mood, and sleep are relevant functions for a person. and it exerts an enormous personal and economic burden, affecting more than 30% of people worldwide.
The mind - body therapies such as meditation, yoga, taichi, reiki, guided imagery, CBT, etc which involves practicing attention control, emotional regulation, and self-awareness. There is increased perception and awareness with mindfulness practices, and these mind - body therapy addresses both the sensory and emotional components of pain. The brain’s ability to react to painful stimuli with an emotional response decreases, and a person is more likely to respond calmly to a stimulus instead of having a hasty emotional reaction like; hurt, pain, anger, etc.
Holistic treatment approach also called complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) has a wide range of aspects, including the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual factors that all come into play when thinking about the whole person. Holistic therapy is commonly rooted in bodywork and mindfulness practices. These holistic techniques are designed to help you understand your mind-body-spirit connection and promote relaxation so you can focus on healing.
The Wellness Garden team collaborates closely with health practitioners & therapists who have demonstrated their effectiveness in pain management and preventive programmes that have received national and international recognition
Pain is an unpleasant sensory or emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage. It is always subjective to each individual and can vary from a slightly bothersome, such as a mild headache, to something excruciating and emergent, such as the chest pain that accompanies a heart attack, or pain of kidney stones. Pain can be acute, meaning new and chronic, when it lasts for more than 3 months.
Chronic pain is one of the most prevalent health problems that contributes to loss of productivity, efficiency and increases the health expenses. It has been linked to increased risk of major psychological conditions including unrefreshing sleep, fatigue, depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
When a person is diagnosed with pain, the first line of treatment is typically pain medication. But while these medications may work for some people, in others, the side effects—ranging from nausea, acidity — may outweigh the relief.
For those looking for holistic pain management, a complementary & alternative therapy (CAM) specialist can treat various issues like Muscle and skeletal issues that result in neck, shoulder, and back pain, neurological issues such as headaches, Lifestyle related such as postural problems, stress related, women care like PCOS, menopausal, sports injuries, old-age related bones, joints, muscles, and ligaments, such as arthritis. There is no predetermined number of sessions for a specific condition as it totally depends on the patient’s condition. If the issue is mild then our expert may suggest you take a few sessions likewise in some chronic cases (Neuro related, elderly care, etc.) the sessions are usually for a longer period of time, our experts will discuss the treatment plan with you. This may include advice regarding the approximate number of sessions you may require.
The frequency of the session will also be discussed by our expert. A patient can take treatment sessions on a daily basis or on an alternate basis if skipping sessions in between don’t harm the treatment process.
Complementary and Alternative treatments (CAM) are used alongside conventional treatments, the majority of medical doctors find most forms of complementary medicine acceptable. It is important to keep your treating physicians aware about the use of complementary medicine.
CAM therapies are widely used in the western population, as nearly 40% of adults in the U.S. use some form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and the majority of individuals (54.9%) used CAM in conjunction with conventional medicine. Most people use CAM to treat and/or prevent musculoskeletal conditions or other conditions associated with chronic or recurring pain.
.
There is no predetermined set form of therapy or amount of sessions because it entirely depends on the patient's condition. If the issue is minor then our expert may suggest you take a few days sessions without disrupting your daily schedule, likewise in some chronic cases the sessions may require for a longer period of time or a continuous in-house monitoring by the experts, the expert will discuss the treatment plan with you.
Every doctor or expert on our platform has to go through a verification process by the Wellness Garden Team. Any physician or specialist you consult with has their credentials (from a nationalized institute or elsewhere) independently confirmed by our team. The team also examines the expert's level of expertise, including the number of years and national and international exposure to the specialization. To evaluate the center and service, WG has its own quality checkpoints. The team visits the center, speaks with the expert and his staff, and evaluates the facility's cleanliness, size, noise level, and other services. We also take feedback from patients to ensure that doctors maintain high standards on consultation.
